Well Loved book. Shelf wear and contains writing, Price reflects usage.

The Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind curriculum is a thorough, easy-to-use grammar program that picks up where the First Language Lessons series left off, giving students in Grades 5 and up the grammar skills needed to write and speak well. Each course combines the three essential elements of language learning: understanding and memorizing rules (prescriptive teaching), repeated exposure to examples of how those rules are used (descriptive instruction), and practice using those rules in exercises and in writing (practical experience)."Color" levels may be used in any order as each workbook contains the same rules and examples-but four completely different sets of exercises and assignments, allowing students to develop a wide-ranging knowledge of how the rules and examples are used in writing. The Purple Level covers one year of instruction. Grades 5 and up.

The Purple Workbook is used along with the Purple Workbook Key, Core Instructor Text, and The Grammar Guidebook, all sold separately or together in a Complete Package. This consumable student resource features lessons that re-state the primary rule or rules being taught, then dive into exercises that carefully build understanding. Charts, graphics, and examples are integrated as needed, and regular review is incorporated throughout. Exercises often draw from literature, novels, histories, biographies, and science books to encourage students to see how the rules they're learning operate in real literature. This workbook covers one year of instruction. Reproducible for in-family use only.  579 pages, softcover.
