Daily Grammar Practice Grade 5 Student Workbook By: Dawn Burnette, Judith Holbrook
Gently used. The Daily Grammar Practice Grade 5 Student Workbook features an introduction to the program, reference "help pages," and a separate page for each week's lesson that features the sentences from the teacher's guide. These optional workbooks help busy homeschoolers save time and energy by having lessons pre-written, rather than having students copy them into separate notebooks. Worksheets may be done as a class or individually.
The Daily Grammar Practice Series in its entirety is comprised of a set of books for Grades 1-5, and two options for Grades 6-12. The 1st Edition of Grades 6-12 features basic sentences for a more foundational understanding, while the 2nd Edition option for Grades 6-12 features more challenging sentences from literature.
The Grade 5 teacher's guide, as well as overhead CD-ROMs which can be used to project the lesson (no printing capabilities), are available separately.
30-week program. Rather than individual topical lessons or units, students work with one sentence per week, and each day have a different task to accomplish with the sentence (e.g. on Mondays identify each noun, pronoun and interjection; on Tuesday find the simple subject, verbs, adverbs, etc.).
Daily Grammar Practice Grade 5 covers diagramming complete sentences, identifying predicate adjectives and nominatives, complex and compound sentences, linking verbs, and more.
